Ishikawa Kasumi was born on February 23, 1993 in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Her parents are table tennis players, and her mother is a former Japanese national player Kumi Ishikawa.
Since Ishikawa Jiachun has many Chinese coaches and sparring partners, her Chinese has improved rapidly. Now she is very impressive in her fluent Chinese during interviews. Having shown her ping-pong talent since she was a child, she participated in the adult all-Japan Table Tennis Championships in the sixth grade of elementary school and defeated high school students and college students to enter the third round of competition. This result is the same as that of Ai Fukuhara. She is called "Little Love II". In 2011, she won the Women's Singles Championship for the first time in the All-Day Championships in the adult category. In 2014, she won the All-Day Championships in women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles runner-up.

In the international arena, she won the mixed doubles championship with Maharu Yoshimura at the 2017 Düsseldorf World Table Tennis Championships. At the Tokyo Olympics, she will still play in the women's singles and women's team events.
Currently, Yoshikawa Ishikawa is ranked 9th in the world, and she will play as the 6th seed of the Women's World Cup.
